Grievance(s)

Over the break, I watched a special about studies that had been conducted on the intelligence of dogs.  Evidently, (smarter breeds of) dogs have been shown to be aware of whether or not you're paying attention to them.  Not in a jumping-up-and-down-desperate-for-your-attention way, but in a her-eyes-are-closed-I'm-stealing-a-cookie way.  I'm fairly certain Topher isn't that smart.  I considered testing my hypothesis, but decided no good could come of it.  Either I find out my dog isn't particularly smart (which I've always suspected and, quite frankly, prefer) or I realize he's a genius and start worrying about him turning on me.  I favor ignorance.

For some reason, the professors are refusing to post our first semester grades.  The 1L's seem dangerously close to revolting.  I can think of few things scarier than 200+ overworked, stressed-out, sleep deprived twenty-somethings provoked to the point of violence.  Hopefully grades will be up shortly and no lives will be lost.

I'm entering week 2 of the mother of all colds.  It's fairly inconvenient when combined with the whole "starting up classes, trying to be a good student this time and not give myself an ulcer" thing.  Clearly the fates hate me.
